Travel Health & Vaccination Advice

Planning a trip abroad? We can help you prepare.

If you are looking for travel vaccination advice, please send your request through EC (Engage Consult services for Thistlemoor Medical Centre – Engage Consult). Requests should be sent at least 8 weeks before you travel.

This allows time to review your itinerary, advise on recommended vaccines/medications, and signpost you to suitable providers for any vaccines we do not administer at the practice.

If you are contacting us less than 8 weeks before you travel, or if your travel date is within 8 weeks, please note that we may not be able to provide vaccinations in such a short window. In these cases, we will signpost you to a private travel vaccination centre, as they can usually provide appropriate vaccinations at short notice.

Before you contact us

Please include the following in your EC request:

  • Destination countries and regions
  • Dates of travel and length of stay
  • Type of trip (e.g. resort, backpacking, visiting family, business)
  • Previous travel vaccinations (attach records if possible)Travel Health & Vaccination Advice

Please include the following in your EC request:

  • Relevant medical history, current medicines, allergies, pregnancy/breastfeeding status

Submitting complete information helps we give you accurate advice quickly.

What we provide

  • Travel health advice based on your destinations and activities
  • Signposting to local pharmacies or private travel clinics for vaccines we do not provide

Please note: Thistlemoor Medical Centre normally provides a limited range of travel vaccinations under the NHS, which include Cholera, Hepatitis A, Polio, and Typhoid. However, these vaccines are ordered on demand, so giving us at least 8 weeks’ notice is very important to ensure they are available in time for your travel.
