Our History

There has been a medical centre on Thistlemoor Road for the over 50 years. We look after patients from Peterborough and the surrounding areas.

Dr Nalini Modha took over running the medical centre in 1994 with 700 patients. At this point care was being delivered from a single terraced house. Over the years the site has been developed and extended to help the medical centre to look after 30,000 patients from purpose-built facilities. We work closely with neighbouring practices within the community to provide a network of care across the local community. We currently host a community-based endoscopy, colonoscopyultrasound clinic and aortic aneurysm clinic and are keen to further develop community services to provide care closer to our patients’ homes.

We are very excited to have begun the process to develop a Rehabilitation Centre which consists of Hydrotherapy pool, Community Pool, land-based physiotherapy and apartments for short stays while having rehabilitation therapy.

The practice has worked at National level to help develop the role of healthcare assistants in General Practice, nurses taking on extended roles and medical assistants training. We continue to contribute to local and national work at every opportunity.

Dr Nalini Modha has been honoured in the New Year’s Honours list in 2020 with an MBE for her services to General Practice. She dedicates the award to the support she has had over the years from an amazing group of patients as well as a wonderful team. She was presented with the award in September 2021 at Windsor Castle.
